Rui studied for her BA at Tsinghua University in Beijing and graduated from the Parsons MFA Fashion Design and Society Program in 2018. She was selected as a semi-finalist for the H&M competition in 2017, and won the "CFDA+2018 Design Graduate" and "Elaine Gold Launch Pad 3.0" awards. Her main studio is based in Shanghai.
