XIMONLEE is a brand founded in 2015 by the eponymous Chinese-born Korean designer based in Berlin. Since graduating from Parsons with the Best Menswear Designer Award in 2014, Ximon has been taking his collections to brand-new places. Being the first menswear designer to win the H&M Design Award (2015), he decided to start his own eponymous line XIMONLEE. Ximon’s meticulous and highly original work has since made a strong impact within the industry. Apart from his global collaboration with H&M, he was invited to showcase his AW15 collection in Vfiles Made Fashion during NYFW in February 2015 and at the prestigious LVMH Prize showroom in Paris. Ximon Lee has been selected to the 2016 Forbes 30 Under 30 list after one year since the line was launched. In June 2015, Ximon has produced a capsule collection for Joyce X Machine-A, which served as the very first XIMONLEE experience for customers worldwide. Followed by the success of the capsule collection, Ximon has developed his SS16 collection based on his first collection ‘Children of Leningradsky’. While paying homage to his childhood spent in a border town between China and Russia,
XIMONLEE views each season as a study, the realisation of a sustainable concept to be revisited for the next study . Through simplified and reimagined pieces made with thoughtfully treated materials, it pushes and blends conflicting materials and collaging details to disjoint the standard idea of clothing. are the visual methods the studio uses to reflect the contradictory identities Ximon views in contemporary society. XIMONLEE exmajorthemes of contemporary attitudes towards: gender and body image, sexuality and ethics. With each new season comes a maturity for deeper identities and the reconnection to human emotion so often left behind in the context of fashion.
